My Favorite Section At Blick

Headed down to the Blick art store today and was gonna cop some cans BUT I realized online from Oik Art I could get 12 cans of Fresh Paint for under $35 instead of maybe 5 cans of Montana for $35...BUT its never a loss going to the art store so I just picked up some Copic stuff. Word!

KRINK App Fun

Some pieces from the app that I was able to save before being deleted by the dreaded "double tap". Once I can get my hands on an ipad2 then I can get a lot more detailed pieces in. It would be nice to be able to save a hi-res version for print...

KRINK App

I love messing around with this app. Its really fun BUT I f@#king HATE with a passion the "double tap" to clear feature. I've erased (on accident) over a dozen creations by accidentally performing a double tap. I wish you could change the setting and turn it off...other than that its pretty cool. I just wish their were more colors to choose from...

Balloons are a forgotten treat. As kids most of us loved balloons. But as we grew older we forgot the joys and fun times we shared with a balloon. Its like that short film The Red Balloon. So as a street artist with a message why not make it with a balloon?

The other day my two books on sticker art featuring Postal Shipping labels 228 came in. Pretty cool art but I expected more and better art. BUT still good books for inspiration.

Sticker Art Supplies

I've never known of this form of media used to sticker art since recently while surfing the net for graff stuff. Its pretty old media used by street artists. I've been out of it so Im just getting my self reacquainted to the scene. I dont see it used around here in The San Diego area so I'll just take it make it my own n publish it out on the streets.

Checked out the last day of the graff show. Im glad the wifey talked me into going to check it out down at the Jacob Center. Inspiring to see all the graff art. Definitely motivates me to keep truckin!

I come home from a long day of work to find a little surprise on my desk! More order for more blank sticker paper came in! Awesome! I guess that means background and sticker designing this weekend!

More Marker Fun

Again continuing to practice with black and grays. Using my old art markers is great BUT will pickup a set of the Copic 12 pen Black and Gray set soon. Copic has a blending pen so we'll see how well it blends.

Anyways this piece is an unnamed character Im developing just for kicks.. Will be using him for some of my Graff work in the future. I just gotta figure out a name...

Getting Reacquainted With My Markers

When I went to graphic design school I got a art bin full of cool art supplies. I mean literally almost $1000 worth of supplies. My favorite were of course the Pantone markers by Tria. Now I've had this set for over 10yrs and they still work just as well as they did when I first got them. They are pricey like Prisma Color or Copic markers but you get what you pay for...Im gonna need a serious collection of markers soon though to be able to do some amazing stuff BUT it's gonna cost me. Shit aint cheap!

Well I guess you can call my little work bench in the garage my first studio. In the future I'd like to open a real studio where I can create art just like my heroes Banksy, Sheppard Fairey, and Mr Brainwash...

1st Order From Bombing Science

Well it took awhile (7 bizniz days to be exact) BUT it finally came in today. Its a small order only 3 cans n a bunch of NY caps (Fat & Thin). I just wanted to see how it was to order from them. Pretty cool. I will order more soon. I just wish they weren't in Canada. I'd probably get them in fast if they weren't. If I can find a place local or up in LA that sells Ironlak for $3.95 a can then I'll order or pick up from them. But for now Bombing Science seems to be the best affordable place to buy cans. I was at Aaron Bros today and they carry Montana Golds...$10 a pop! Screw that! Thats 2 Ironlaks for couple bucks less than 1 can of Montana Gold. Once Oink Art gets a fresh supply of their Fresh Paint brand Im stocking up! At $2.95 a pop you cant pass that up! I'm buying a case when they re-up!
