Painting without Thinking

I live by the philosophy that artist Feng Zhu teaches. He believes you should NOT think so much when creating/painting. I agree with that. My best illustrations come from when im doodling on a napkin or notepad. Not reallying having a set idea of what im creating. Just allowing my mind to be free from the mindless ramblings that go through my head every single day. Its a good exercise to clear your mind also. But now I've incorporated that thinking in my paintings.

If someone were to ask me to commission a painting of a specific theme, I'll do it BUT it probably wont look as good as if I just created something with no set guidelines or rules.

This painting here is spray paint and acrylics. I mixed two different applications to achieve this piece. I wasn't thinking about which application to use. I just started off with spray paint and it evolved subconsciously into the final product...art is funny, art is beautiful that way...

When I hate myself, I hurt myself...

On a personal note this image is what NOT to do when you are angry with yourself. Self inflicted wound to the head via Ukulele. Impulse...thats all I can say. Now not only do I have about a 2"long gash on my head my beloved and cherished Ukulele is dead! I killed her. I destroyed her into a dozen pieces all because of...impulse! SMH

First Commission Piece Completed!

Well this is my 18x24 interpretation of Tim Gagnon's piece. I originally did a smaller piece BUT was asked to do an 18x24 piece. Came out ok. I still have a lot to learn about acrylic painting...

Inspiring...

Whenever I get down on myself about my art. I'll look at this image and think how difficult a time this guy has in bringing his art to life BUT he still does it!

Painting on Canvas with a Brush

I haven't painted using a brush in God knows how long. When i started getting back into painting and doing space art its always been with stencils and other tools. So this was a great little simple piece to do to get my confidence up and get accustomed to painting using brushes again...good times.

This piece is actually my interpretation of one of artist Tim Gagnon's lesson paintings. Go to his site www.timgagnon.com register and take one of his online classes.

I just watch his time lapse vids on youtube and try to learn by those...I am to cheap to pay for lessons haha.
